Nokia Reference Models from 1997-2003

“Between 1997 - 2003 whilst working with my old team at Benchmark, we worked with Nokia design teams to produce some of the most radical and innovative mobile handsets of the time. Cameras were just being introduced into mobile devices along with other innovations, mobile devices moved towards ‘convergent’ functionality. Here is a small selection of the hundreds of concepts that we produced to reference level, some of which made it to production two to three years later.

These were all hand-held shots, often quickly snapped as the work was being packed for delivery. We never had time to take professional pictures, only record shots in this fast moving world.”
