Welcome!
Well, after a year of utter turmoil I would like to welcome you to Solve 3D’s new web site. Welcome to my current clients, my old clients, potential clients, students and anybody that is interested in the subject of Model Making for Design, Architecture, Interiors, exhibition, advertising and media…Phew! I would also like to extend a heart felt thank you to my daughter Chloe for forcing the issue and putting this all together.
For me 2021marks 36 years in a profession that has changed enormously since I was snapped up by London Associates back in1985 at my 2nd year show at the highly regarded, Herts College of Art and Design… Yes.. No degrees in the subject in those days, just 2 years of solid practical experience taught by the best in the industry, we learned to use every machine and had incredible technicians to show us techniques and working practice that have stood our year groups in good stead since then. Everybody during that period went straight into employment simply because the skill set was so rare.
I have been privileged, during this 36 years to work with some of the finest creative minds in the world, no less than 7 Royal Designers for Industry, Legendary Architects, Designers, Artists and Creatives all in widely diverse aspects of design. Amongst these people have been some real characters that have enriched my life and for that, I am grateful to have chosen such an incredibly rewarding profession.
When you are engaged in your career, you are in the moment and don’t really have a sense of history. Five months after the registration of the worlds first dot com, I started my career in design and the rapid growth of the internet has defined that career. It’s easy to forget the part you played in the birth of products that have changed the world but looking back I feel a real sense of pride.
I am not permitted to show most of my work for a number years, or until it is in the public domain, some I can never show. The Archive does contains work spanning my career, some of it is recent work, but from time to time, I will post articles showing work in progress and other subjects that may be of interest. Thanks for visiting.
